In the second week of August 2021 E3 International team paid visit to EPBiH Kreka and Breza willow plantations. Despite unfavorable weather conditions, with the high temperatures reaching 40 celsius degrees and extremely poor percipitation, thanks to the commitment of the EPBiH team plants manageded to survived and reached in average 0.8 meters in height. Raising fast-growing energy crops and using biomass as an energy source is one of strategic commitments of EPBIH. For the next season management of EPBIH is considering establishing short rotation energy plantations on ca. 30 ha of the abandoned mining sites.
