The SLLEI Consortium and the Olof Palme International Center are organizing a round table “Just Transition in the Energy Sector” which will take place on October 29, 2021 in Sarajevo. The host of this event will be Elektroprivreda BiH (EPBiH), as one of the key players in ensuring a just transition in the energy sector. This is the first stakeholder meeting aimed at encouraging a dialogue and a possible coalition of partners.
The objective of this meeting is to exchange information on the current situation, projects, and activities in the energy sector pertaining green transition, just transition and the challenges faced by public companies in the field of energy and mining. It is important to discuss and agree on the most appropriate intervention in order to ensure fair decarbonization and energy transition that will not endanger production processes and will respect socio-economic rights of miners.
The round table will be attended by representatives of the competent ministries of Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of trade unions, representatives of civil society organizations, as well as representatives of embassies and international organizations.
